Exploration - Rockinghorse Property

The Rockinghorse property is located in Nunavut, approximately 90 km northwest of Tahera's Jericho Claims, and 450 km northeast of Yellowknife. The diamondiferous Anuri kimberlite was discovered on the Rockinghorse property in 2001. Tahera considers the property to be prospective for further discovery, as several unresolved kimberlite indicator mineral trains have been identified in the region.

Anuri Kimberlite

The Anuri kimberlite is located in the northern tip of Tak Bay on Napaktulik Lake. A gravity low coincident with a break in the magnetic signature of a diabase dike represents the geophysical response attributable to the Anuri kimberlite. A subtle airborne magnetic low is slightly offset to the west of the gravity anomaly. The airborne has also produced a coincident resistivity anomaly. A very prominent KIM train extends from the bay to the northwest.

The western lobe of the Anuri kimberlite was identified as target LT508 by Kennecott prior to its discovery in 2001. Thirteen drill holes were completed for the Anuri kimberlite over three years. Eleven of these drill holes collared into bedrock while two holes were abandoned in overburden due to technical difficulties. Ten of the eleven drill holes intersected kimberlite. A total of 1260 m of kimberlite core was recovered from the Anuri drilling providing 5,600 kg of sample. In total, 3,968.3 kg of kimberlite were processed for diamond recovery by caustic fusion (total dissolution) at Kennecott's lab in Thunder Bay.

The drilling and interpretation of the 3-D gravity and electromagnetic surveys suggest the western lobe measures approximately 225 m X 150 m. The eastern lobe is interpreted to measure 100 m X 100 m. These two kimberlite lobes lie adjacent to one another and coalesce into a single body near surface.

2007 Anuri Evaluation Drilling

  • Determine a DMS processed grade using a 20-30 tonne sample
  • Approximately 18 HQ sized diamond drill holes were completed
  • Processing of sample remains incomplete, due to corporate restructuring

Please refer to the technical report filed on SEDAR for a complete summary of the Anuri kimberlite exploration results.

The potential quantity and grade of the Anuri Kimberlite is conceptual in nature, and there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource, and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in the delineation of a mineral resource for the Anuri kimberlite.
