Tahera announces departure of Executive Vice President

04/16/2007

TORONTO, Apr 16, 2007 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Tahera Diamond Corporation (TSX-TAH) ("Tahera") announces that Daniel Johnson, Executive Vice President Operations, has advised of his intention to step down from his position at Tahera to pursue other business interests. Mr. Johnson was hired by Tahera in 2004 to lead the development and construction of the Jericho Diamond Mine.

As part of Tahera's technical support agreement with Teck Cominco Limited and as previously disclosed, Teck Cominco has seconded one of its senior mining professionals to Tahera to provide technical support and advice in connection with Tahera's on-going program of operational improvements at the Jericho Diamond Mine. The individual seconded by Teck Cominco will eventually be replaced by a permanent site-based Director of Operations.

Tahera is grateful to Mr. Johnson for having fulfilled his role in connection with the development and construction of the Jericho Diamond Mine. The construction of the mine proceeded on schedule during 2005, with substantial completion of construction of the mine occurring in less than twelve months. Commercial production of the Jericho Diamond Mine was declared on July 1, 2006. Mr. Johnson will remain with the company until the annual meeting of shareholders, and will assist with corporate development activities at Tahera during this period.
