Toronto – November 28, 2003
Tahera Corporation has been notified that the Final Hearing to consider the Jericho Diamond Project Environmental Impact Statement, originally scheduled to take place next week in three designated Nunavut communities, has been postponed until early January 2004.
The Chief Medical Officer of Nunavut has advised the Nunavut Impact Review Board that the Hearing should be postponed due to a severe outbreak of influenza in the communities of Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, and Gjoa Haven.
Tahera and the Nunavut Impact Review Board regret the postponement of the Hearing, however both parties believe that postponing the Hearing until early January 2004 is in the best interests of all parties involved.
Tahera believes that this brief postponement will not have a significant impact on its timeline with respect to development of the Jericho Diamond Project.
