TORONTO, Jun 06, 2002 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --
Tahera Corporation will hold its annual and special meeting of shareholders today at 11:00 A.M. in Toronto, Ontario.
Summary of Chairman's Message
Tahera achieved several significant milestones during the past year. Leading these achievements was the discovery of the significantly diamondiferous Anuri kimberlites in Canada's emerging Coronation Diamond District. The initial diamond results and the size potential of the Anuri kimberlites are both very encouraging. Tahera anticipates that a decision regarding bulk-testing of the Anuri kimberlites will be made during the summer.
Anuri Kimberlites
Six diamond drill holes (three drilled in each of 2001 and 2002) have intersected the Anuri and Anuri East kimberlites to date. The results of the spring 2002 exploration program expanded the tonnage potential of the kimberlites considerably. The significantly diamondiferous Anuri kimberlites are now interpreted to coalesce in the upper region with each having a champagne glass shape.
Based on ground geophysical data and diamond drilling results, the Anuri kimberlite has a surface expression of approximately 225 metres by 150 metres and the Anuri East kimberlite measures approximately 100 metres by 100 metres. The kimberlites have been intercepted to a depth of over 200 metres. Further drilling is required to test a possible northeast extension of the kimberlites. The larger Anuri kimberlite exhibits stronger diamond grade potential than the Anuri East kimberlite. A geologic model that will assist in determining the volume of tonnage contributed by each kimberlite is being developed.
A further 213 kilograms of kimberlite (derived from the Anuri East kimberlite) have been processed by caustic dissolution at Kennecott's diamond laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This batch of diamond results is from the bottom half of the first hole drilled in the spring 2002 program that cross- cut the Anuri kimberlites from west to east. The new diamond results, and a compilation of all diamond results from the Anuri kimberlites reported to date, are listed below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kimberlite Diamonds Diamonds Diamonds Diamonds Processed Recovered Recovered Recovered Recovered (kgs) (+0.15mm) (+0.5mm (+0.5mm (+1mm in 1 square square dimension) mesh) mesh) -------------------------------------------------------------------------

The balance of the diamond results from the remaining two holes of the spring 2002 program are expected during the summer.
The Rockinghorse property is considered highly prospective for additional kimberlite discoveries. Numerous kimberlite indicator mineral trains exist in the Anuri orbit (area within a 20 kilometre radius of the Anuri kimberlites), and kimberlite target prioritization based on geology, geophysics and geochemistry is ongoing in preparation for the summer program. New geophysical methods that may assist in defining kimberlite targets for future exploration programs are being assessed. Details regarding the summer program will be announced in due course.
Michael J. Michaud of SRK Consulting is Tahera's qualified person for the Rockinghorse property project.
Jericho Claims
The restructuring of the existing joint venture with Rio Tinto was completed earlier in the year. Rio Tinto was provided with the option to incorporate Tahera's Jericho Claims into the existing joint venture between the two companies. Tahera elected to joint venture the Jericho Claims as part of its revised corporate strategy.
A feasibility study completed on the Jericho kimberlite indicated robust economics for a modest-sized diamond mining operation. Rio Tinto's goal is to discover more kimberlites and thus enhance the scale of the existing project. The agreement stipulates that Rio Tinto cannot make a development decision based solely on the Jericho kimberlite. Tahera has sightholder rights to its share of diamonds from both projects (Jericho and Rockinghorse), and sole diamond marketing rights over its share of production from the Jericho Claims after five years.
Further assessment of the Jericho Claims exploration data is underway in preparation for the summer program. The source of the highly diamondiferous kimberlite float located just 900 metres west of the Jericho pipe has not been located, and numerous unresolved kimberlite indicator mineral trains exist on the property.
Ranch Lake Kimberlite
Tahera's joint venture partner BHP Billiton completed four drill holes during the spring exploration program to assess the previously untested central area of the large diamondiferous Ranch Lake kimberlite. Results from this program are expected in the summer.
Hood River Property
Tahera's Hood River property hosts several unresolved kimberlite indicator mineral trains in addition to the diamondiferous Tenacity pipe. A summer exploration program is planned to explore the prospective property for additional kimberlites. Alternatively, Tahera is considering joint venture opportunities with respect to the Hood River property.
Few diamond exploration companies have assets of similar quality to Tahera's Anuri and Jericho kimberlites. Tahera believes that either of these projects have the potential of becoming the next major Canadian diamond mine. Tahera's shareholders have benefited from a significant rise in the Company's share price over the last twelve months, and we look forward to enhancing shareholder value further through additional exploration success and continued development of our exciting diamond assets.
