New kimberlite discovered on Tahera's Rockinghorse Property

09/05/2001

Tahera Corporation is pleased to report that another kimberlite has been discovered on its Rockinghorse Property.

The Rockinghorse Property, located approximately 120 km northwest of Tahera's Jericho Diamond Project, is held under the Tahera / Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. joint venture. Kennecott, a member of the Rio Tinto Group of companies, is the operator of the joint venture. Pursuant to the joint venture agreement, Kennecott can earn a 62.5% interest in the property by funding all costs on discoveries up to and including a decision to mine.

The new kimberlite, named Anuri East, lies immediately east of the Anuri kimberlite that was discovered in July 2001. Preliminary analysis of the Anuri kimberlite indicated that it is significantly diamondiferous.
The Anuri East discovery drill hole, drilled at a 45 degree angle, encountered kimberlite from 294 meters to 330 meters. Geophysical data indicates that additional drilling is warranted at Anuri East, however, drilling will be more efficiently carried out during the winter. Consequently additional drilling on the Anuri East kimberlite will be delayed until the upcoming winter exploration season. Caustic fusion analysis of the drill core will be performed at Kennecott's diamond laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario to determine the preliminary diamond content of the Anuri East kimberlite.

Kennecott is continuing its current aggressive exploration program on the Rockinghorse Property through September. Further exploration results will be announced in the coming weeks. Following analysis of the results of the current program, the next phase of evaluation for the Anuri kimberlites will be determined.

Tahera Corporation is focused on exploring its highly prospective landholdings in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. In conjunction with this diamond exploration focus, Tahera is pursuing various alternatives to develop its Jericho Diamond Project, including potential joint ventures with senior mining companies. Tahera also has interests in extensive joint venture exploration landholdings in Nunavut and the NWT. The common shares of the Company trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol 'TAH'.
