Tahera Corporation is pleased to report the microdiamond results for the new kimberlite discovered in April 2001. The kimberlite, located approximately six kilometers west of the Jericho Pipe, was partially delineated with two diamond drill holes.
Tahera processed 100.4 kilograms (approximately 50 kilograms from each hole) of kimberlite at its diamond laboratory in North Vancouver. The material processed was selected based on mineralogical characteristics of the kimberlite core. Two diamonds were recovered by caustic dissolution from the 100.4 kilogram sample. One stone was a macrodiamond measuring greater than 1 mm in 2 dimensions and one stone was a microdiamond measuring less than 0.5 mm. A bottom cut-off size of 0.15 mm was used.
Although the preliminary results indicate that this kimberlite may not have economic potential, additional kimberlite core will be processed by caustic fusion to further the assessment.
Tahera is very encouraged by this new diamondiferous kimberlite discovery in the Jericho area.
The 2001 summer exploration program, scheduled to commence in late June, will entail further prospecting, geophysics and exploration drilling. Tahera's 2001 budget for exploration activities in the Jericho area is approximately $2.6 million.
Tahera Corporation is focused on exploring its highly prospective landholdings in Nunavut and the NWT. In conjunction with this diamond exploration focus, Tahera is committed to bringing its wholly owned Jericho Diamond Project to commercial production. Tahera also has interests in extensive joint venture exploration landholdings in Nunavut and the NWT. The common shares of the Company trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol 'TAH'.
