The Jericho diamond mine represents the birth of the diamond industry in Nunavut Territory. Tahera’s guiding philosophy is to operate the Jericho diamond mine in an environmentally and socially responsible manner to the benefit of all stakeholders.

Since the inception of our exploration efforts in 1993, Tahera has had a comprehensive environmental plan in place. This plan has been followed to adhere to our commitment to minimizing the impact of our work on the environment.

Tahera’s policy is to achieve a high standard of environmental care in conducting its business as a resource company. Tahera’s approach to environmental management seeks continuous improvement in performance by taking account of evolving knowledge and community expectations.

Tahera’s Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement with the Kitikmeot Inuit Association provides for Inuit participation in employment, training, business opportunities, and community development initiatives arising from the development of the Jericho diamond mine.
